I recently came across this beautiful piece of artwork my granddaughter created about a year and a half ago when she was about three and a half years old. I still laugh every time I see it and vividly remember the day she presented it to me. Take a good look at the picture and then read the conversation that accompanied this masterpiece;
Winnie; “Papa, look at this picture I drew for you, do you know what it is?”
Me; (I’m now biting the insides of my cheeks trying to stifle the laugh that so badly wants to come out) “Umm, Umm, you know what Winnie, this picture is so beautiful, why don’t you tell me what it is.”
Winnie; “It’s two mermaids Papa!”
Me; (Thank God I didn’t say penis people) “Of course they’re mermaids, they’re beautiful. Go show this picture to Nana!”
(off she went into the other room to show Nana her mermaid picture. I couldn’t wait to hear her reaction)
Winnie; “Nana look what I drew!”
Nana; “Oh my, Oh my, Jim (softly), Jim ( a little more loudly), Jiiiiiiiiim! (panic mode) come in here please . . . NOW!”
By the time I got into the living room, I was laughing so hard I could barely breathe.
Me; “So how do you like Winnie’s picture of the mermaids?”
My wife turned bright red and had to walk away because she too, was now laughing hysterically!
I can assure you however, Winnie’s artistic skills have greatly improved and my daughter Sarah ( a graphic designer) is teaching her how to draw, paint and create all sorts of pretty amazing art pieces for a little girl who just turned 5 today.
I hope you got a laugh out of this just as I did. If you enjoyed this post, please feel free to share, Reblog or tweet it. Hope you all have a great day!
