Honestly, I have no idea why I have such random thoughts some time, but I’ve learned to accept them and just go with it. Sometimes it can be hysterically funny while other times . . . not so much. So today I was reading an article about how humans (in the form we are today) have been around for one hundred thousand years and my mind began to wonder and wonder at the same time . . .
I thought about how far they must have traveled by foot and eventually by water and maybe even a UFO, who knows? I tried to imagine what it must have been like and how it took so much stamina and determination to survive. I then began to think about food. (oh now there’s a big flippin surprise . . me thinking about food!) I thought about how difficult it must have been to hunt for food and then to gather food. And then I had an incredibly random thought . . .
“How many people (ancient humans) died gathering and eating new food sources?”
Think about it, the ancient dude or dudette is walking along minding their own business and they look down and see this “new” thing. They pick it up, eat it and . . . DEAD! Looks like the gang won’t be having that for lunch! Or maybe they see a mushroom, eat it and . . . trip their brains out hallucinating for hours! I sincerely have to wonder what percentage of ancient humans died eating “new” foods. I mean, did they pick one person to be their guinea pig. like the human they despised the most? And for that matter, what made them look at something and say “Oh man I really want to eat that!”
O K so now that I have that off my chest I’m sure random thought # 128 isn’t far behind . . . I’d love to hear what you think, give me a shout back! What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever eaten?
