Alright everyone, take a really good look at this picture. One of these things does not belong Can you guess which of these things shouldn’t be there?
It hasn’t been a very pleasant winter this year living on the North Shore of Boston, then again, what winter is, right? We’ve had record breaking snowfall and are under a blizzard warning right now (Saturday) through Monday morning with an additional 12+ inches of snow to fall on the almost 7 feet we’ve had in 18 days. Great, just great (Heavy sigh)! To make it even worse, the low temperature tomorrow morning is supposed to be 11 below zero with winds possibly gusting to over hurricane force making it feel like 25-40 below zero! Time for me to break out my speedo, the tanning oil and my lounge chair!
I consider myself lucky that I have a warm home to ride this storm, well, and the rest of the winter out, but I’m really kind of concerned for this Robin Red Breast. Oh, if you guessed Robin Red Breast . . .you win! Robins don’t usually show up until the end of March beginning of April to announce the arrival of Spring. Well, this Robin has been hanging around my house for about 3 weeks now. Maybe she didn’t get the memo to fly south for the winter, maybe he wouldn’t stop to ask for directions. Either way, it’s really, really, strange,
My daughter Sarah went outside and tried to get close enough to see if it was hurt or sick, but it flew away as she got closer. The Robin seems healthy albeit extremely stupid for hanging around here in the frozen tundra of Massachusetts. Maybe it likes snow, maybe it’s an . . .Alien! Hmmmm . . . .I might be on to something here? Well, I guess the real test will be tonight into tomorrow.
